Fitness for Seniors - Exercise Fitness

Exercise fitness

With the large number of senior citizens changing their exercise fitness routines because of quality of life issues, many health and fitness centers have changed their programs to accommodate those issues. The sustained fitness for seniors that visited the health and fitness centers were their primary concern, and they were determined to provide an inviting setting in which they could exercise and socialize with regularity.

Through their exercise fitness programs, senior citizens began to notice subtle changes in their bodies. While their weight lifting exercises were not near as hard as some of the bodybuilders that they had observed out on the exercise floor, they still felt that the change was significant enough to share with friends.

When their friends were presented with the changes that were taking place in their friends' bodies, they decided to join them in their exercise regimens, and see what effects a regular exercise program might do for their bodies. These senior citizens used these health and fitness centers as a meeting place to share their health problems. These senior citizens also used these health and fitness centers to share the joys that came one by one as they progressed in their exercise fitness program.

These exercise programs were as contagious as a cold, except for the better and not for the worse. Senior citizens actually looked forward to spending every day at the health and fitness centers working out on various pieces of equipment that were strategically placed throughout the room. Some of the men and women in the exercise programs were more familiar with the basics of the exercise equipment operation and the exercise programming that applied to each one, and graciously shared what they knew with their growing group of friends.

They also enjoyed the sharing of whirlpool baths at the fitness centers. The whirlpool baths made the senior citizens feel like they were guests at a famous hotel and were enjoying one of the many amenities that they had to offer. The best part about their membership at the health and fitness center was the low prices that were offered, that honored the seniors with a discount due to their age.

These senior citizens were flabbergasted by the different health related departments within the health and fitness centers. There was a cardiovascular program that covered the exercise regimens that affected people who had experienced open heart surgery. As part of the Bounce Back program, a fast paced workout was necessary and these individuals took it one day at a time to get themselves back into shape. This program also helped these cardio patients to lose weight on the program and this weight loss was closely tracked by a nursing professional.

There was a physical therapy department within the health and fitness centers that helped patients with physical disabilities learn to walk again. These people achieved great results through the urging of a licensed physical therapist on the premises. Each day the senior citizens would mark the progress made by an amputee as he progressed in his physical therapy regimen. Eventually, this individual learned to walk unaided by others, and learned to balance with the aid of a prosthetic device.

These senior citizens had learned so much since they walked through the doors so long ago. Not only had their bodies changed, their mental attitude had changed as well. They knew that they were more alert and had attained better comprehension that was attributed directly to the physical fitness exercise program that they had been following all this time.
